I made an announcement on my No Labels Unleashed Facebook page about a merger. This does have to do with Unleashed Truth.

Unleashed Truth is the spot where I (and on some occasions, Mini Truth) would do reviews. However, the spot has been quiet over the last four years. It has not been from lack of desire. I just needed the right circumstances and motivation to get back in the swing of things.

Before Unleashed Truth's creation, I was the founder and main reviewer of an organization known as The Review Board. The Review Board's main focus was to provide honest reviews to independent writers. Occasionally, we would do music, but our main focus was writers.

As expected, some individuals did not take too kindly to the constructive criticism.

Not every publication will receive top stars. Any art is subject to rejection, even if the creator believes it is the best.

There were several factors leading to the closing of The Review Board. One of the top was time constraints (increased responsibilities with my day job). The other was the ungratefulness and toxicity blossoming in the independent writer/author space.

As a group, we were reluctant to switch to a formula of only posting reviews if they were positive. We believed this would skew the ratings and not be fair to readers who did not like the work.

Truthfully, we would not have time to address each author individually who scored low and tell them our points of critique.

In the end, it was not worth the headaches, so there was sadness and relief when The Review Board closed.

However, I missed giving my thoughts on stuff I read or services I used (good, bad, or otherwise). I also longed for the organic essence of reviewing. This was the opposite of The Review Board's setup ... responding to requests and being on a deadline.

A trip to the local library and getting my library card reignited my excitement about reading. With that resurrection of enjoyment came the desire to share my thoughts.

Yet, I did not want to set up another Facebook page to manage.😒

I decided that the reviews would be posted on the No Labels Unleashed Facebook page and through my @simplynolabels account on Instagram. I already updated the Facebook page's description. An updated banner will be coming in the next couple of weeks.
